I’m Olive and I’m lucky enough to share my passion for yoga by teaching students around Sussex, since May 2018. I started practicing yoga 5 years ago and completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Kranti Yoga, Goa in March 2018. I initially decided to do my training course in order to get some formal training, as all my practice was previously self taught. I never thought I would teach yoga, but during my training all I found myself thinking about was sharing this practice with others.
Over the past year of teaching, I’ve learnt so much about my self, my practice, my knowledge and my teaching. There has been so much growth, from failures and highs, but all if it has led me to where I am now which I am incredibly grateful for. My teaching style has changed a fair bit since I started as I’ve found my own style, rhythm and pace. I’ve pulled inspiration from my own practice, mobility techniques, animal flow and body weight training. One of my students once said to me, “Olive you’re the perfect mix of spiritual and all round strong, to push us both physically and mentally” (thank you Michelle!). I’d like to think so, but in all seriousness, all I ever want from my students is for them to have fun and learn how to explore their bodies through movement and breath.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me and I hope to see you at class!
