I have practiced Pilates for many years and turned this passion into my career 5 years ago and haven’t looked back. I continue to study Pilates and with a deeper knowledge and understanding my passion for Pilates grows stronger. I run group classes and 1-2-1 sessions.
My qualifications include: Specialist Diploma in Mat Based Pilates, Pre and Post Natal Pilates & Nutrition, Pilates with Small Equipment, Pilates for Common Orthopaedic Conditions and Vertical Fusion Pilates (ballet/yoga/pilates – flow) as well as Barre Fusion. I am also trained on the Reformer. I am currently on a Conversion Course run by Body Control Pilates London.
I am also REPs (Register of Exercise Professionals) registered.
Whether completely new to Pilates or been practising for years, you would be welcome in my classes. Matwork exercises can be modified to suit all abilities.
Pilates is a method of exercise and movement with an emphasis on control, flowing and precise movement, core strength and postural alignment, flexibility and breathing.
Joseph Pilates wrote:
‘My method develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong posture, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit.’
If you have never tried Pilates before, it is wise to have a 1-2-1 with me so I can give you the basics and see which class would suit you.
The classes are small (up to 10 people) and we will work through the whole body, standing, seated and lying on the mat. We also use small mat equipment, such as therabands, small Pilates balls and Pilates Circle.

Some words from Helen on getting back to the studios and the experience of lockdown
For the past 5 months I have been zooming Pilates from my home, with occasional (but very special) appearances from my darling children & our dog! Although I have loved working from home and am hugely grateful for the technology to teach my beloved Pilates to you throughout lockdown, I am now even more delighted to say that I shall be returning to Salt Water Studios from 3rd August to teach in person. Salt Water is such a special place, it is light, airy, clean and has the best ‘feeling‘ & that is something that I put down to the love and devotion of Katie and Ross and all the other instructors who have the pleasure to teach and nurture here. We are all carers & that nurturing, caring, loving feeling is in the fabric of the studio. I am proud to call Salt Water ‘home’ for my Pilates & I am returning with the addition of my beautiful Reformer which I am able to teach 1-2-1 lessons on. Group classes will of course be small. 1-2-1 available. Zooming will continue. So whether you chose to practice from home, or wish to come to the studio – I am here for you. Lockdown has given us all time to think, reevaluate, reboot our systems. It’s been hectic and sometimes overwhelming – but we are making it through with care & consideration. I am hugely grateful for the consistency and comfort of my pilates practice gives, its reassuring familiarity and space to move and breathe. Helping us through all this; care and consideration for others & self care and compassion for ourselves – not always easy I know.Let me help you, let me guide you through our Pilates practice together, move, breathe, align, centre, focus, feel good and take care. cannot wait to see you Helen xx
