About Josie
DANCE, YOGA AND CREATIVE MOVEMENT PRACTICES.
I have a fascination in movement. I believe that the benefits of uniting and strengthening mind and body together through movement can help to ground and support us in our day to day lives and in turn, bring clarity and acceptance as well as improved health.
With over 12 years experience in teaching, guiding and directing movement, I am passionate about accessibility and inclusivity. My background as a community dance artist has provided me with vast experience in teaching both contemporary and classical dance techniques and movement practices including physical theatre, anatomy, improvisation and choreography.
Community cohesion and connection is everything in both my yoga and dance teaching and I was lucky enough to work as Contemporary Dance Tutor and Head of Community Arts Practice at the prestigious Brit School for Performing Arts for many years after gaining a PGCE in secondary education. My current dance and yoga teaching includes facilitating for companies such as Rambert Dance Company, Dance Umbrella and in the learning and participation department at Trinity Laban.
Alongside this, I teach yoga; yoga for all. Community focused workshops, public open level classes, private clients, yoga for beginners and yoga in education. I am a trained specialist in Teen Yoga, often working with schools and have recently been accepted onto a post graduate course in Dance Movement Psychotherapy. I want you to feel good and through both yoga and dance I encourage a sense of grounding, creativity and open mindedness.
